Serum Keeps Asking For Serial Number

Re: Serial number is not accepted to reset password A7000 is a USB adapter not a router model in your sig by the way. The password recovery has been broken for at least a year if not longer. The serial number prompt may be occurring because your computer is having trouble connecting to Adobe's activation servers. Try working through the solutions in. @glenfer - thanks for your reply. Every thing you say is correct. However - I am DEFINITELY connected every time I start-up XP. I know this for a fact because it's my habit to check XP11 weather every time before I fly, and the weather screen always says 'Downloaded just now'. “Because Verizon told me to get this number before buying a phone off e-bay so that I can check the number against the Verizon lost/stolen list because if it is on that list, they have to keep the phone and then I am out of money and a phone”. Are there any reasons why I should not give out the cell phone serial number? I recently bought a WD SSD drive and wish to clone my HDD onto it. Going to the Western Digital site i downloaded the Acronis True Image WD Edition software. Unfortunately its asking for a serial number which i dont have, I was under the impression it would detect if a drive was WD and so shouldn't need one.

This has been a complete pain so far, can you advise (or provide a serial number)?

For completeness the drive is a WD Blue 3D NAND SSD, it is recognised in Windows Disk Manager

Any help would be appreciated.

Serum Keeps Asking For Serial Number

Iain, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products which applies to all OEM versions of ATI supplied with hardware purchases. WD would need to provide a valid serial if one is needed.

Note: OEM ATI may not correctly detect required make drives when connected externally via a dock or adapter, so the new SSD would need to be installed internally / in place of the original drive and the system booted from rescue media created from the installed app.

Please see KB 56634: Acronis True Image: how to clone a disk - and review the step by step guide given there.

Note: the first section of the above KB document directs laptop users to KB 2931: How to clone a laptop hard drive - and has the following paragraph:

It is recommended to put the new drive in the laptop first, and connect the old drive via USB. Otherwise you will may not be able to boot from the new cloned drive, as Acronis True Image will apply a bootability fix to the new disk and adjust the boot settings of the target drive to boot from USB. If the new disk is inside the laptop, the boot settings will be automatically adjusted to boot from internal disk. As such, hard disk bays cannot be used for target disks. For example, if you have a target hard disk (i.e. the new disk to which you clone, and from which you intend to boot the machine) in a bay, and not physically inside the laptop, the target hard disk will be unbootable after the cloning.
